Business Problem
SoraStream provides cloud gaming solutions but is losing an audience that prefers alternative gaming experiences.
Users
Hypothesis #1
Families with children have limited income for multiple games, so they will prefer a more economical gaming solution.
Ideas
• A subscription-based model that provides access to a library of games at a lower cost than purchasing them individually.
• A family-sharing plans to allow multiple profiles under one account.
• A freemium games with optional paid content, so families can enjoy games without upfront costs.
Hypothesis #2
If users can play on TV devices and use their phones as controllers, it will increase engagement and adoption.
Ideas
• TV gaming with smartphone controllers, eliminating the need for expensive gaming hardware.
• Family-friendly navigation. Parents and kids can easily use the system
Hypothesis #3
Parents are concerned about controlling their children's gaming time, so they will prefer solutions that offer built-in parental controls.
Ideas
• Offer playtime analytics so parents can track and manage gaming habits.
• Allow remote control via a parental app, enabling parents to adjust settings from their own devices.
Hypothesis
If we offer developers an API-based scalable booking system, it will be so convenient and flexible that they will actively recommend and promote it to their clients
Ideas
• A rule-based solution that could be expanded using plugins.
Process: From Idea to Reality
On the SoraStream project, I worked within an Agile project approach.

Also I closely collaborated with the Lidium product team, particularly the Web Designer and Researcher, as the designer had less experience with mobile app design. To bridge this gap, I organized a workshop to introduce him to the basics of mobile design since he was responsible for the console part.
The development of both apps was handled by Chili Labs. And I maintained close communication with the developers at every stage of development and testing
To unify and speed up the development process, developers and I created a UI kit for the apps. It was created according to Material Design 2 guidelines. In 2020 it was represented the most modern standard for Material Design.

Design
A complex solution that allows users to enjoy cloud gaming without the need for a joystick. Also allows users to control their gaming time, providing features to manage play duration.

Key Results
The new TV and mobile apps had a positive impact on SoraStream. The solution led to a 23% increase in user registrations and 18% in session duration.

Reflection
It was my first experience designing TV app. So the project helped me refine my skills in working with TV platforms, collaboration, and adapting to new design challenges.
